You can find all the databases in the folder
%systemroot%\SYSMSI\SSEE\MSSQL.2005\MSSQL\Data.

According to your description, my understanding of this issue is: You would like to know how to find portal's content database name. If this is not correct,
please let me know.

To get the content database for each portal site, follow the steps below:

1. Go to SharePoint Portal Server Central Administration.
2. Click "Configure virtual server settings from the Virtual Server List page" on "Portal Site and Virtual Server Configuration" section.
3. Click on portal site name to go to "Virtual Server Settings" page.
4. Click "Manage content databases" on "Virtual Server Management" section.
5. Then you can get the content database(s) name.
6. Repeat Step 3-5 to find other portal sites content database(s).
