Not able to access Windows Update website with Event ID 485

Issue Description:

Not able to access the Windows Update website. The event log states:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: ESENT
Event Category: General
Event ID: 485
Date: 3/26/2008
Time: 10:01:40 PM
User: N/A
Computer: OFFICE1
Description:
wuauclt (1048) An attempt to delete the file
"C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs\tmp.edb" failed with system
error 5 (0x00000005): "Access is denied. ". The delete file operation will
fail with error -1032 (0xfffffbf8).

Cause:
------------
The Windows Update engine files are corrupted.

Resolution:
-----------------
Register the Windows Update engine files on the computer.

1. Click Start, Run, type cmd and press Enter.
2. Run the following commands:

regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\wuapi.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\wucltui.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\wups.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\wups2.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\wuweb.dll
regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\softpub.dll

System Restore prompts to reboot twice

Issue Description:

The System Restore prompts us to reboot the machine even after we have
already rebooted the system after a successful restore.

Cause:
----------
Two startup items:
ALCXMNTR
AdobeUpdater

Resolution:
----------
Uncheck them from startup
