Windows 2008 DNS forwarder not working expectedly

Postby guest » Sat Jun 14, 2008 12:05 pm

you are concerned about Windows 2008 DNS forwarder not working expectedly.

First of all, since after you configured the Forwarder, there are websites
showing up when making queries. This means the Server reaches the DNS
server of OpenDNS and gets the query results. Therefore in this case the
Forwarder function in Windows 2008 works fine. However, the block function
failed at the OpenDNS side(because it will block the content at the first
place).
Since this issue is more like an OpenDNS related matter than DNS forwarder
issue in Windows 2008, I recommend that you contact OpenDNS for any
information and solutions. Please understand that they are in a better
position to be able to assist you with this.

Here I included additional information for your reference:
===============================
1. After checking the information about OpenDNS, I know that you need to
add your IP address to enable sites blocking. So please make sure when
using Windows 2008 for DNS queries, the IP address that finally reaches
OpenDNS is the same as you originally registered.
2. Microsoft DNS follows DNS RFC standard and blocking certain web sites
are not a future in the standard. However, you can use IE, ISA to help you
with this. For more information, please kindly refer to
