Not able to install SP2 in Windows 2003

Postby guest » Sat Sep 06, 2008 8:31 am

You were not able to install SP2 for the
Windows 2003 Standard server and you've followed most methods in KB 822798.

To troubleshooting this issue, let's download SP2 locally and boot into
safe mode to test again. If the problem persists, I would appreciate your
help in providing the svcpack.log file for us. Normally, this file is
located at C:\Windows folder.
1. Please delete C:\Windows\Svcpack.log.
2. Reproduce the problem.
3. Send C:\Windows\Svcpack.log to me.

Please send me the MPS report file as well. To do so, please download the
Microsoft Product Support Reporting tool from the link below:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... 79-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_SETUPPerf.EXE
1. Run the tool
2. The program creates: C:\WINNT\MPSReports\<<Report
Type>>\Reports\cab\COMPUTER_MPSReports.CAB. Where COMPUTER will be replaced
with your computer name. Where C:\WINNT is the location Windows is
installed which might be c:\windows or c:\winnt
3. Once the folder opens up in Windows Explorer, please send me the CAB
file of the server that includes your computer's name.

If there is no CAB file created, please zip all the files in
C:\WINNT\MPSReports\<<Report Type>>\Reports and send it to me.
