ISA event ID 3 and 5052

Postby guest » Wed Sep 17, 2008 12:07 pm

event 3 and 5052 is logged on your
ISA server and clients cannot login when the error occurs.

Analysis
======
From the error message, it appears that ISA is not able to contact the
domain.

Suggestion
========
Let's perform the following steps to troubleshooting this problem:

1. Let's check if the IAS server is added in RAS and IAS Servers group. To
do so, please open ADUC and click the Users group. Double click RAS and IAS
Servers group and check if the IAS server is added in the group.
2. When the problem occurs, please ping the DC and IAS server to test the
network connectivity. Please both ping IP address and FQDN.

Thank you for your response. I have uploaded the mps reports from our two
RADIUS servers, swfdc01 and swfdc02. I believe the Event ID 3 errors we were
seeing were due to an incorrectly Windows Mobile phone performing activesync
with our ISA server (ISA uses radius for email authentication) to access
email. It appears that the event 5052 errors also correspond wiht all of the
event ID 3 errors, and that there was some sort of time pattern to them. We
have corrected the user and haven't seen the two errors since.
