Can't run Remote Desktop Snap-In in XP SP3 and Vista

Postby chicagotech » Sat Oct 11, 2008 12:11 am

Situation: Remote Desktop Console Connection (Snap-In for Windows 2003 SP1) will no longer make a "console" connection to a Windows 2003 server after installing XP SP3 or Vista. It can connect as regular remote desktop only. You wonder is there is a new snap-in with the GUI.

Resolution: You can run mstsc /admin command and then save it as it as RDP file.
