Join windows 2008 to windows 2003 Domain

Postby guest » Sat Oct 18, 2008 10:25 pm

You need to add a member server running Windows Server 2008 to Windows
server 2003 domain. And want to know if preparing forest and domain schema
is necessary.

Suggestions:
===========
You don't need to take any job before join new server to domain.
This is because your new server will work as a member server and new
directory feature won't be use. The "adprep" tools is used to extend 2003
schema to 2008 level and add some attribute to existed object or define
some new object and attribute to support new function and feature window
server 2008 ADDS used. This is unnecessary to you.
