Error 1060: RASM service does not exist

Postby chicagotech » Sat Nov 01, 2008 10:16 pm

when you try to create a dial-up connection, you receive error 1060
which indicates that RASM service does not exist.

Based on my experience, the problem can be caused by missing or corrupted
registry keys that are associated with RASM service. I suggest you try the
following steps to restore the registry keys:

1. Go to another XP computer that the RASM service works fine.
2. Open Registry Editor and export the following key as an .REG file:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan

3. Copy the .REG file to the problem computer.
4. Double click the .REG file to import it.

That worked great thanks. And as well I had to remove Mcafee as well it was
blocking the connection as well.
