Can't browse computers after upgrade to windwos 2008

Postby guest » Fri Nov 07, 2008 4:00 pm

We have 2 2008 DNS servers and two 2003 DNS servers.

Ding...Ding...Ding...We have a winner! I was going through all of your
suggestions one by one, and checked my DHCP server, and it had a third tier
listing that was for an outside DNS server. I changed it to an internal
server. I also went to the two 2008 servers and changed the Netbios setting
from default to enable. Then I checked the network again, and bingo all of
the computers showed up.

Thank you very much for your kind assistance! It is greatly appreciated!
Have a great weekend!

Update: A windows 2003 server gives the message: "mydomain is not accessible.
You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The
list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available.
I was able to browse the network from this computer before the swapping of
DCs.

On a WinXP client, I can still browse the network and all of the clients and
servers (2003 and 2008) appear.
