Try these:

1. Right click on net icon near system clock at right-down corner of the screen and then click troubleshoot problems to let windows to detect any network issue

2. check the proxy settings. IE Options (Tools, Internet Options, Connections tab, LAN Settings) was set to "Automatically detect settings". When I turned that off, everything started working like a charm again

With Win 7 and IE8, I have the issue of opening more than 2 tabs in IE8. I am used to having 15 or 20 tabs open in Firefox, but with IE8 on a Win 7 machine, the 3rd tab I try to open will not access the internet. The other 2 tabs already open work fine still.

Any clues on this one ?

Before we move on, I’ve the following questions for you:

1. When you said “the 3rd tab I try to open will not access the internet”, what the exact symptom? “Page not display” error or something other than that? Please snap a screenshot for me.

2. What’s the result if you try to access Microsoft website using 3 tabs?

3. Do you have internet accessing when the issue occurs?

4. Can you try log on using another account and test if the issue persist?

5. Please reinstall IE8 per the following steps to eliminate the issue:

a. Open Control Panel and click Programs

b. Click Programs and Features

c. Click “Turn Windows features on or off”

d. uncheck “Internet Explorer 8” to uninstall IE8.

e. then re-check “Internet Explorer 8” to reinstall IE8 again.

# 2 above worked. I can now open 3 or more tabs with success to any website. Actually opened 9 tabs in the same browser session, all different sites and working fine. The funny thing is I was previously able to open 3 or more separate browser sessions, but not more than 2 tabs within each session with a successful connection to a website in the 3rd tab.

THANKS!
