Windows 7 ERROR:VPN Tunnel Execution failed

Postby guest » Tue Feb 03, 2009 12:27 pm

Hello,

since 7beta was published i am trying to establish a connection through the internet (i tried both os 32bit and x64).
Is this not possible anymore?
Access shall be established by using https://dyndnsadress . My adress answers through the interface of my Netgear SSL312 Concentrator. I am also able to log in to the interface with my user credentials but when im trying to start the vpn application, activex based, nothin happened: The addon is downloaded but no tunnel is established. I also tried with firefox, all the needed activex options in security for trusted site are set and a few system accounts on the local machine are members of the administrator group, but no tunnel is build. In firefox i receive an additional error message : ERROR:VPN Tunnel Execution failed.
By using vista or xp, there is no problem building the tunnel. I also tried to modify the advanced firewall and start special services, but until now i was not able to hit "the right button". Maybe one of you might have similar problems with this structure and have a possible solution , i would be very appreciated to follow your solutions.

Kind regards

This is because the ActiveX is not compatible in Windows 7 beta.

In order to confirm if it is the case, I suggest that you connect to the VPN, and then check the IP configuration. If the IP address is assigned and the default gateway is correct, the connection should not have issues. In this case we could confirm that the issue is caused by the incompatibility of the VPN software.

To check IP configuration, launch “cmd” and enter “ipconfig /all”.
