How to: setup Exchange policy to empty Deleted Items

Situation: The client wants to empty the Deleted Items from Outlook automatically every 5 days.

How to: 1. Open Exchange System Manager.
2. Go to Recipients>Recipient Policies.
3. Right click on it and select New>Recipient Policy. Type the new policy name.
4. In the General select Modify.
5. Check Users with Exchange mailbox in the General tab. Click OK to close.
6. Click Mailbox Manager Settings (Policy) and check Deleted Items.
7. Highlight the Deleted Items and Click Edit.
8. Check the Age Limit (Days) and type 5 for deleting all sent items from the Deleted Items every 5 days.
9. Click Apply and OK to close.
10. Right-click on the policy and select Apply this policy now.
