Postby chicagotech » Mon Dec 11, 2006 5:47 pm

Q: The user was deleted by mistake and as a result lost all his email. I
re-created his user account. Is here a way to recover his emails ? sbs
backup is run every night.

A: You may be able to recover a deleted use’s email if the deleted user’s mailbox is not purged. To recover a deleted user’s email, please follw these steps;

1. Make sure the deleted mailbox is available for recovery. Navigate exchange System Manager>Administrative Group>Domainname>Servers>Servername>First Storage group>Mail Store>Mailboxes. Find the deleted (It should show with a red X, see below).
2. Re-create the same username with email. Delete the mailbox from the
account.
3. From ESM, right-click Mailboxes and select Run Cleanup Agent. Right-click on the deleted user and select Reconnect.
4. You can reconnect that mailbox to the new re-created user or any user account that doesn't already have a mailbox associated with it.
