Can't access the server using RDC after changing IP

The DNS record may have A record point to the old IP. Check the first.

Hi Everyone,

I have an SBS 2003 R2 box with 3 member servers behind it. When I
went to install Symantec Backup Exec 11d, it advised me to change the
members servers from dynamic to static ip addresses. No problem
here...so I went into TCP settings and assigned them the following ip
address:

192.168.16.4
192.168.16.5
192.168.16.6

all, with the default gateway as 192.168.16.2 (sbs box - domain
controller).

Everything works fine and upon reboot the member servers connected to
the domain controller with no problems. But when I go into Remote
Desktop and type one of the servers names to connect via Terminal
Services, it cant find the server. I have to type the IP address in
order to establish a remote connection.

This does not happen with the two other member servers. Just one of
them has trouble being connected via Remote Desktop through its
Computer Name. I tried pinging the server from the domain controller,
and the dc still thinks its at its old dynamic ip address. But if I
ping the static ip address, there are no problems getting a reply.

Is there any way to update the DC so its knows the member servers new
ip address? What am I doing wrong?

Ringo
