Event ID 2012

Event ID 2012 - The server has encountered a network error

In general, Event ID 2012 indicated there is a connectivity or name resolution problems.

Possible Causes and Solution:

1. Upgrade the NIC drive.

2. Re-configure the NIC settings, for example, re-set the NIC speed to match the switch/hub/router speed.

3. Determine the optimal MTU

4. Try another NIC.

5. Check the DNS and WINS settings.

6. Make sure the DC is not running on a multihomed computer.

7. Install a WINS server if you have WAN or VPN.

8. If you don’t use IPX, remove it from the computer.
