VMware Web Access Cannot access virtual machine console

Situation: When attempting to use VM Console in the Web Access of ESX 4.1, you may receive this message:  Web Access Cannot access virtual machine console.

The VMware Remote Console plug-in failed to connect to your virtual machine "Virtual Machine name".

Your browser is running in 'Protected Mode'. In order for the VMware Remote Console Plug-in to work correctly, you should add this server to the list of trusted sites.

If this problem persists, contact your system administrator.



Resolutions: 1. Add the server to the trust site. To do that, please follow these steps:
1) Go to Tools menu > Internet Options > Security tab.
2) Click Trusted Sites and then the Sites button
3) The VMware Server Home Page should be in the Add this website to the zone text field.
4) Click the Add button.
5) Click OK buttons to get back to the browser.
6) Restart the browser.

2. If adding adding the server to the trust site doesn't fix the problem, try to turn off the Protected Mode. To do thta, please follow these stpes;
1) Go to Tools menu > Internet Options > Security tab.
2) Click Trusted Sites.
3) Uncheck the Enable Protected Mode.
4) Restart the Browser.

3. Also try to disable pop-up blocker.

4. Make sure the VMware Remote Console plug-in is enabled in Manager Add-ons.
