VPN client can access shared folder with System error 5

Situation: The client can establish the VPN, can't access any domain shared folder. The shared folder has correct permissions. He can ping the shared server by name or IP.

Troubleshooting: 1. net view \\serveripaddress, get Access denied and system error 5.

2. If we try net use \\serveripaddress, enter the domainname\username, we can access the shared folder.

3. After reviewing the VPN client settings, we found the user didn't enter the domain name. If we enter the domain name (chicagotech in our case) in Domain line, we can access the shared folder without any issues.
