Hyper-V failed to enable replication

Hyper-V is not in a state to accept replication on the replica server for virtual machine

Situation: The client enabled Replica on Windows 2012 before and then disabled it. Now, when he tries to re-enable it, he gets this message:

Hyper-V failed to enable replication.

Hyper-V is not in a state to accept replication on the replica server for virtual machine 'Servername'

Under the details an Virtual machine ID is listed, and using this ID I can find the replication files from the previous replication (under \Virtual Hard Disks\Hyper-V Replica\Virtual hard disks\<ID>\ and under \Virtual Hard Disks\Hyper-V Replica\Virtual Machines\<ID>.

Case 1: the previous replicated virtual machine may be still exist in the replica serve. Remove it in replica server and enable replication again.

Case 2: Make sure the certificates match the system name if you use HTTPS.

Case 3: You can use Kerberos only if it is on a private network or domain network.
