“Cannot access folder because the path is too long or deep”

"File creation error - The semaphore timeout period has expired"

Bad cable or connection related case:

1. We got this error “Cannot access folder because the path is too long or deep” when copying a folder to local drive. We tried to copy the folder to the other drives or external drives such as USB and Firewire, they work fine. Replacing the IDE cable fixed the problem.

2. Am getting this same error “Cannot access folder because the path is too long or deep” when trying to copy a large (2+ GB) file from one HD to another on my XP PC. The source drive is in an external HD enclosure and attached via USB 2.0. I unplugged the hub and plugged it back in and everything is fine now.
