Windows UAC issues Case 1: The client finds some programs can't access some network locations. Resolution: 1. Right click on the program and select Run as administrator. 2. Check if there is a new version of program. 3. Low UAC level. Please refer to this link: How to disable/enable UAC in Vista 4. Configure the EnableLinkedConnections registry value 1) Click Start, type regedit in the Start programs and files box, and then press ENTER. 2) Locate and then right-click the registry subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System. 3) Point to New, and then click DWORD Value. 4) Type EnableLinkedConnections, and then press ENTER. 5) Right-click EnableLinkedConnections, and then click Modify. 6) In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. 7) Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer. Case 2: An application cannot run as a standard user Case 3: The user who logon local administrator remotely encounters unexpected behavior. However, he doesn't have this issue if he logon domain admin account. Resolution: Disable UAC remote restrictions
Case 4: When the user tries to Run as administrator or a task that usually requires elevated administrator permissions to continue, these actions may not be completed successfully, and unexpected behavior may occur.
