Case 1: Some users logon takes long time with Applying
Computer Settings.
Resolution: The WINS in the DC has an issue and can't open
it. Fixed it by re-removing the WINS and re-installed.
Case 2: The application users have a problem to process
the batch.
Resolution: Find the Event ID 8021 and 8032 as shown
below.
Event ID 8021: The browser service was unable to retrieve
a list of servers from the browser master \\DC1 on the network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{4EF55995-1E5C-4010-A0A9-95086559BB6E}.
Browser master: \\DC1
Network: \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{4EF55995-1E5C-4010-A0A9-95086559BB6E}
This event may be caused by a temporary loss of network connectivity. If
this message appears again, verify that the server is still connected to the
network. The return code is in the Data text box.
Event ID: 8032: The browser service has failed to retrieve
the backup list too many times on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{4EF55995-1E5C-4010-A0A9-95086559BB6E}.
The backup browser is stopping.
The application uses NetBIOS name. If the WINS server an issue, the users
will have problem to run the application.
Case 3: The secondary DC has a problem to access the WINS
Manager.
Resolution: We find there is unknown host in WINS Record
Owners.
