The add-in "C:\ Program Files\ Symantec_Client_Security\Symantec Antivirus..." Could not be installed or loaded

 

Situation: After upgrading Symantec Endpoint Anti Virus software, the user receives this message: The add-in "C:\ Program Files\ Symantec_Client_Security\Symantec Antivirus..." Could not be installed or loaded when he opens Outlook.

 

Resolution: 1. Click Outlook Help and select Detect and Repair to repair it.

2. Disable Symantec AntiVirus from Outlook Add-in Manager. To do that, select Tools>Options>Others>Advanced Options>Add-in Manager. Uncheck the Symantec AntiVirus Outlook Protection.
