How to install Blackberry Enterprise Server Express
- Part 1
1. Log in to the
computer using besadmin.
2. In the BlackBerry
Enterprise Server Express installation files, double-click setup.exe. If
your operating system is Windows Server® 2008 or Windows® Small Business
Server 2008, run setup.exe as an administrator.
3. Select the language
that you would like to install.

4. After reviewing the log in account (note: the account should be Besadmin0
and domain, click Continue Installation.

5. Accept the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express license agreement. Click
Next.

6. In the
Setup type
window, select
Create a BlackBerry Configuration
Database.

7. In the
Setup options
dialog box, specify the application you want to install and the location.
Click
Next.

8. In the
Preinstallation checklist
dialog box, make sure no errors or warning. In our case, we get “Unable to
find Collaboration Data Objects library )CDO.dll)” and “Microsoft Exchange
Server deleted (MAPI version 1.0.2536)”, we need to download MAPI new
version.

If you don’t see any errors or warning, you click
Next
to continue.

9. In the
Database options
dialog box, decide whether you want to install Microsoft® SQL Server® 2005
Express on your computer or use a existing SQL Server database.

10. In the
Accounts and Folders
window, enter the password and type the name of the BlackBerry Enterprise
Server Express that you want the BlackBerry Administration Service to
display.

11. In the
Summary
windows, verify the setup information and then click Install.

12. When the setup application prompts you to restart the computer, click
Yes.
