An error occurred while configuring a component error when running CEICW in Windows SBS 2003

Symptom: 1 When running CEICW in Windows SBS 2003, you receive the following error:

An error occurred while configuring a component.
To continue with the wizard and configure remaining components, click OK.
To end the wizard without configuring the remaining components, click Cancel.

2. The following errors appear in the \Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Support\Icwlog.txt log file: Error 0x8007258b returned from call to Enabling secure dynamic DNS updates(). Error 0x8007258b returned from call to CNetCommit::Common(). Error 0x8007258b returned from call to CNetCommit::Commit().

Cause: This problem may occur if the DNS is setup incorrectly.

Case 1: The SBS DNS points to the ISP DNS.

Case 2: The DNS forward lookup zone for the Active Directory namespace is not set to Active Directory-integrated.

Case 3: The DNS is not set Dynamic updates to Secure only.

Case 4: The DNS is pointing to 127.0.0.1 IP address.
