Symptom: You setup Vista as ICS host and XP as guest client connecting to
the host computer directly. You can share data each other but can’t access
the Internet.
Troubleshooting: Run ipconfig /all on both computers and the IP addresses
are 169.254.x.x.
Possible cause: 1. It is the bad cross over cable or it is not cross over
cable.
2. You setup bridge instead of the ICS.
3. It is 3rd party software issue. For
troubleshooting, start the Vista with clean boot.
