Internal Error 2711

Symptom: When you try to use Windows Installer command-line utilities to install a server administration tool, you may receive the following error message: Internal Error 2711 For example, you may receive “Internal Error 2711: AFeTSClientConsole” when using “msiexec /i adminpak.msi ADDLOCAL=AFeTSClientConsole /qb” command to run Windows server 2003 adminpak.msi.

Cause: This issue may occur if you type the command line incorrectly. When you use the method that is described in this article, make sure that you type the abbreviated names of the server administration tools exactly as they appear in the tables earlier in this article. In our example, Windows Server 2003 adminpak.msi doesn’t have the abbreviated names of AFeTSClientConsole
