System error 1726 has occurred. The remote procedure call failed.

Situation: When the client tried to map the shared folder of a remote XP computer using net use command, he received error “System error 1726 has occurred. The remote procedure call failed”.

Troubleshooting:

We can ping the remote computer by IP and name.
We checked the XP firewall and found the File and Printer Sharing was not enabled. After enabled it, he can map the drive without any issue.
