Slow to browse My Network Places Issue

  1. Use fewer protocols or NICs on a computer. More protocols and NICs, it takes longer time to browse.
     
  2. Remove unused shortcut in My Network Places.
     
  3. If you have domain network, you may want to setup WINS server for faster computer browsing.
     
  4. Make sure you have a master browser available in the network.
     
  5. Map a Network Drive instead of browsing it in My Network Places.
     
  6. If you do need two or more NICs, you may want to disable NetBIOS all NICs except the primary NIC.
