Delayed Write Failed

Windows was unable to save all the data.

The data has been lost.

This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection.

Symptoms: 1. While a client is writing a file to a server across the network, they may receive the following error message:

{Delayed Write Failed}
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file x.
The data has been lost.
This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

2. When you copy or move large files from an internal hard disk to an external hard disk, you may receive above message.

Resolutions: 1. Upgrade the latest driver of the Controller if it is an internal hard disk.

2. Upgrade the latest driver of the hard disk if it is an external hard disk.

3. Try a different cable if it is an external hard disk.

4. Turn off SMB signing on the server

5. Install the latest SP. If that doesn’t fix the problem, download hotfix from Microsoft web site.

6. You may be able to work around this problem by increasing the value for page table entries.

7. To avoid this problem ensure the System Cache option is NOT selected for Memory usage.
