Situation: The roaming profile redirection doesn’t work. Event log has
this message:
Event ID: 1521
Description: Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile
and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the
profile will not be copied to the server when you logoff. Possible causes of
this error include network problems or insufficient security rights. If this
problem persists, contact your network administrator.
DETAIL - Windows cannot find the network path. Verify that the network path
is correct and the destination computer is not busy or turned off. If
Windows still cannot find the network path, contact your network
administrator.
Troubleshooting: 1. The group policy is setup correctly.
2. When logon, the group policy applies to the user. However, the user
profile is using temporary profile instead of roaming profile.
3. The user’s profile was created at \\dc01\profiles\redirected\***
4. The group policy result command shows the Roaming Profile:
\\dc01.jsourcetech.local\profiles.V2, However, there are not profile.v2 on
the server.
Resolution: 1. Created and shared profile.v2.
2. Assign permissions to each user so that the user can access the profile.
