Can’t start Windows Update service with “The delayed auto-start flag could not be reset. Error: Access is denied”

Situation: when attempting to start Windows update service, you may receive this message: “The delayed auto-start flag could not be reset. Error: Access is denied”

Troubleshooting: 1. Restart the computer and login administrator account. try it again.

2. Run SFC
Press the Start key and type the word CMD, right click on the command prompt and select Run as administrator, enter the following commands one by one followed by the Enter key:
•- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
•- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
•- DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
•- sfc /scannow

3. Run Windows update Troubleshooting. Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Troubleshoot
